Collaborates with the clinical team to provide quality patient care by initiating care, gathering vital signs, and preparing exam rooms. Assists physicians by collecting specimens, drawing blood, and providing necessary patient education and support.
Requires a high school diploma or GED, with certifications like CNA, LPN, or a medical assistant program preferred. BLS certification is required within the orientation period, and experience in a clinic setting or phlebotomy is preferred.
Overview The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs a broad array of nursing tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse or provider. The individual provides direct patient care for diverse patient populations that vary in gender, age, socioeconomic status, education, physical and mental abilities, locations, sexual lifestyle, and racial and ethnic background. The LPN implements technical nursing procedures according to established policies and procedures and plan of care, assists and reinforces routine patient education, and documents patient care appropriately. The LPN communicates and interacts with other team members to facilitate teamwork and delivery of quality care.
Education: Graduate of State board School of Practical Nursing with current Alabama or multi-state licensure.
