About the role

The Dental Hygienist is responsible for evaluating patient oral health and medical histories to provide high-quality dental care. They perform dental hygiene procedures within a public health setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of dental professionals.

Community Health Centers of Burlington is seeking a full time Dental Hygienist to provide high-quality dental care to CHCB patients. CHCB’s Dental Hygienists are responsible for evaluating patient oral health, dental/medical history, dental complaints, and completing dental hygiene procedures in a public health setting.   • Basic Qualifications
  • Vermont State License in Dental Hygienist with Local Anesthetic Endorsement
  • Current CPR/AED Certification
  • 3 years of experience desired but not required; new graduates welcome!
  • Knowledge, Skills and Ability
  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles and practices of oral hygiene and periodontal care
  • Ability to work and communicate with a large group of professionals; dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and leadership staff
  • Knowledge of dental medical emergencies
  • Knowledge of public health, social and economic factors that impact the health and oral health of patients
  • The ability to travel to other CHCB locations as necessary

Dental hygiene specifics

All adult prophies 60 min+ appointment time – provider (dental hygienist) has the ability to add time to appointments as necessary

3 active dental sites – option to work at 1, 2 or all 3 once full orientated

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Vermont State License in Dental Hygiene with a Local Anesthetic Endorsement and a current CPR/AED certification. While three years of experience is desired, new graduates are welcome to apply.
