Qualifications

• Direct, lived experience with foster care, social services, juvenile justice, mental health, residential treatment or group home placements, wraparound services, or other related community resources. Bilingual in English and Spanish (required)
• Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Criminal Justice, Social Work or related field (preferred) Experience providing case management and rehabilitation services. At least 2 years experience working with system-involved youth. Demonstrated ability to work with families who have experienced high levels of trauma and demonstrate high mental health needs. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. Proven ability to be organized, manage time well, complete high quality and timely documentation. Ability to travel by car to meet with clients, generally within a 90 mile radius of the WCC office. Clean CA DMV record, current car insurance and a vehicle; travel is required. Competencies (skills, abilities, and knowledge): Demonstrated experience working with children and families who may be involved in the child welfare system. Case management skill – assessment/evaluation, crisis intervention, ability to use supervision effectively, ethical and legal responsibilities, high quality documentation. Cultural humility - knowledge of issues of race, class and ethnicity. Efficiency and time management - ability to be well-organized and complete timely documentation. Collaboration and team functioning - able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. *Spanish Language Proficiency Requirement This is a bilingual Spanish/English position. Candidates must demonstrate advanced Spanish language proficiency in order to effectively provide services to Spanish-speaking clients and families. Final candidates will be required to complete an ALTA Language Proficiency Test administered by WestCoast Children’s Clinic and must achieve a minimum score of Level 9 (Advanced) to qualify for the position. A Level 9 proficiency indicates the ability to: Participate in in-depth conversations in Spanish across a broad range of topics at a normal rate of speech Understand most spoken Spanish in professional and conversational contexts, using context to interpret unfamiliar slang, idioms, or complex grammar Communicate clearly and effectively on a wide range of subjects, even if some grammatical errors or a noticeable accent are present Be readily understood by native Spanish speakers without causing misunderstanding WestCoast Children’s Clinic will provide the ALTA language assessment to eligible candidates during the hiring process.
