RN Weekend - Pediatrics - FT -3rd Shift

• Overview Pediatrics is a 38 bed medical surgical floor located within Women and Children’s Hospital.
• Our nurses focus on the medical needs and treatment of infants, children, adolescents, and young adults up to 21 years of age.
• Their specialized training allows them to provide their patients and families with age appropriate emotional support and medical care.
• Our nurses are part of a multidisciplinary team that includes Pediatric Hospitalists, Nurse Practitioners, Residents, Physical Therapists, Respiratory Therapists, Pharmacists, Dieticians, Social Workers and Child Life Therapy.
• The pediatric nurse must be caring, compassionate, and have critical thinking skills.
• The nurse will need to assess a patient’s condition as well as detect any changes and will need to recognize when further intervention is necessary.
• Our department provides educational opportunities to promote a solid foundation in caring for our patients.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of Accredited School of NursingLicense, Certification and/or Registration: Current Alabama or Multi-state Nursing License required.BLS for Healthcare Providers must be obtained in the orientation period. PALS required within one year of hire.

• Skill/Abilities: Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently. Department specific competencies must be completed within the provisional period.
