The pharmacist is responsible for reviewing prescriptions, preparing medications, and counseling patients on drug interactions and dosage. They also manage pharmacy technicians and ensure compliance with quality assurance and HIPAA regulations.
Candidates must hold an Rph or PharmD from an accredited school and possess a valid license in Washington and/or Idaho. BLS certification and strong communication skills are required.
Purpose of Job: Improve the overall health of the communities we serve by providing pharmaceutical care in the following ways: Essential
Reviews prescriptions and prepares medications for dispensing. Counsels’ patients on medication drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals. Reviews and authorizes prescriptions with delegated prescriptive authority under state approved Collaborative Drug Therapy Agreements. Aids in helping patients obtain insurance/patient assistance options. Acts as a part of the care team providing consultation for specific disease states. Maintains established procedures of quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and HIPAA. Directs pharmacy technicians, assistants, and interns. Accesses computer for data entry, pharmacy files, patient charts, and inventory. Utilizes innovative technology with electronic health records and Parata. Performs other duties assigned, including supporting the CHAS Health Mission and Core Values.
Education/Experience: Rph or PharmD from accredited school of pharmacy. Current valid licensure in the state of Washington and/or Idaho required. Prior non-profit experience preferred.
