Coordinates and supports clinical research activities, including informed consent, protocol monitoring, and the collection of research data. Provides direct nursing care to pediatric patients within the Translational Research Unit across clinic and inpatient settings.
Requires a nursing degree (ADN or BSN) and a valid Wisconsin RN license with at least 2 years of pediatric nursing experience. BLS certification is required, while PALS and critical care experience are preferred.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an ADN or a BSN in order to meet the recommended entry level for a professional nurse (or equivalent academic and/or professional experience) required Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred or relevant
2+ years of experience in pediatric nursing required BSN, PIV, and critical care/urgent care experience preferred or relevant education
Patient care management experience required for the coordination of complex research protocols. Analytical skills necessary to assess complex study patients and protocols to develop comprehensive plans of care. Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with interdisciplinary health team members and consumers. The ability to represent the organization and serve consumers in a professional manner and promote a positive image of the department and its services. Mental and sensory abilities to read, process, and interpret clinical data. Computer skills to keep required research records, make clinic appointments, and enter orders. Experience with EPIC, WORD, EXCEL, and Outlook, desired. Ability to rotate shifts and/or work flexible hours, as needed, to meet protocol needs.
