Provides essential support to licensed nursing staff by assisting patients with activities of daily living and personal hygiene. Performs clinical tasks such as monitoring vital signs, collecting specimens, and ensuring patient safety through direct observation and remote monitoring.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and a BLS certification from the American Heart Association. Candidates must have CNA certification, relevant clinical experience, or completion of a recognized HCT training program.
Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN), the Health Care Technician (HCT) functions as a support to the licensed nursing staff and performs activities related to the personal care and hygiene needs of an assigned patient group. Facilitates communication with other departments, visitors, patients, medical staff and employees. Serves as a public relations liaison for the unit. Works under the direct supervision of the nursing manager.
