About the role

Provide crisis assessment, intervention, and stabilization services for individuals experiencing mental health and substance use crises. Responsibilities include being on-call, responding to crisis calls, and developing recovery plans to restore prior functioning levels.

The position would provide crisis services for Winona and Wabasha area.

  • SUMMARY: To provide crisis assessment, intervention and stabilization services for mental health and substance use crises.

Job responsibilities and essential functions

1. Assume responsibility for being on call for day time hours as needed 2. Respond to on-call crisis calls and assess the situation for further follow-up 3. Provide support and utilize active listening skills 4. Stay with individuals in a crisis bed setting or in their homes 5. Develop plans with individuals to assist them in restoring his/her prior functioning level following a crisis 6. Attend monthly On-Call Crisis Team meetings 7. Must be flexible with day time work hours 8. Complete the On-Call Crisis Training. 9. Possess a vehicle, valid driver license, and valid auto insurance.

Physical requirements for position

Must be able to move in a manner conducive to the execution of daily activities. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must communicate with others and exchange information. The employee regularly operates equipment (listed below) on a daily basis. Occasional bending and lifting of office materials may be required.

1. Must meet minimum qualifications as a Mental Health Practitioner as outlined in MN Statute 245i.04: Sec. 245I.04 MN Statutes

  • Must have experience with working with individuals that have had significantly reduced levels of functioning in primary activities of daily living. 3.

  • Traits: Must possess a high level of human relation skills and aptitude for effective decision making. Must possess good planning, organization, and communication skills (oral and written) as well as problem solving skills. Must be able to handle difficult and stressful situations in a competent manner. 4. Must be able to maintain confidentiality. 5. Must possess a valid driver’s license and a willingness to travel as needed to client or organization locations throughout SE MN.
