The Dialysis Attendant is responsible for transporting patients to and from the dialysis department using wheelchairs or beds. Working under an RN, they provide direct patient care and maintain established care standards.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and have completed a certified nursing assistant training program or the hospital's Patient Care Aide course. Previous experience as a dialysis attendant is desired.
Overview The dialysis attendant provides patient transport to and from the dialysis department via wheelchair or bed. The dialysis attendant works under the direction of the RN. The responsibilities of the dialysis attendant include providing direct patient care and maintaining patient care standards. Must demonstrate the ability to work with people from diverse socio-economic backgrounds; to organize, set and manage multiple priorities, and to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
Education: HS/GED required. Must have completed a certified nursing assistant training program or the Huntsville Hospital's Patient Care Aide course.
