The COTA supports therapy services and promotes independence for older adults in both a day center and home settings. Key duties include performing treatments directed by an OT, maintaining documentation, and assisting with daily living activities.
Requires an active Occupational Therapy Assistant certification in Michigan and CPR certification. Candidates must have at least one year of clinical experience and one year of experience working with the frail and elderly population.
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) plays a vital role in enriching the lives of participants through compassionate, hands-on care in both the PACE day center and participants’ homes. Working closely with the interdisciplinary team, the COTA supports therapy services, promotes independence and wellness, and helps create meaningful experiences for older adults through engaging day center activities and personalized home visits.
