SUMMARY: The primary purpose of this position is to safely, effectively and efficiently perform clinical assistant duties required to assist in meeting provider and patient needs. This position is staffed during normal business hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist providers with administering patient care Prepare patients for provider examination including obtaining vital signs on all patients and documenting accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) Perform pre-visit planning for applicable patient visits Administer & document medications per clinic protocols Educate patients and families as deemed necessary Maintain clean & organized work areas, exam rooms, and treatment rooms Apply treatments and dressings as requested by providers Perform clinic procedures as directed Receive and return patient telephone calls in a timely manner Refill medications per protocol Assist in prior authorization for medications and medical equipment Adhere to clinic and departmental procedures and protocols Clean and sanitize clinic instruments per clinic protocol Perform additional duties as assigned
