The Surgical Tech manages instruments, supplies, and equipment during surgical procedures while anticipating the surgeon's needs. They are responsible for ensuring quality patient care and maintaining the sterile field throughout the operation.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and either be a graduate of an accredited program, a Certified Surgical Tech (CST), or have 1+ years of OR experience. BLS certification is required within 14 days of hire.
The Surgical Tech handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during the surgical procedure. He/she understands the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/she has the necessary knowledge and ability to ensure quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
