The Pharmacy Intern obtains patient clinical and prescription coverage information and reviews prescriptions under pharmacist supervision. The role ensures compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements while supporting pharmacy operations.
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program. Proficiency in computer skills and basic knowledge of pharmacology and pharmacy law are required.
Must be able to work 10-20 hours per week while completing Pharmacy degree.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Good project management skills Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills Good analytical, conceptual and problem solving skills to evaluate business problems and apply knowledge to identify appropriate solutions Must be eager to learn, self-motivated, flexible, accountable and can effectively handle multiple tasks at one time Excellent organizational and time-management skills Knowledge of computers to operative effectively with PowerPoint presentations, Excel spreadsheets, and Microsoft Outlook Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) program. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on patient care. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment. Basic knowledge of pharmacology, medication management, and pharmacy law. Proficient in computer skills, including pharmacy software and electronic health records (EHR). Knowledge and Skills: Previous pharmacy experience (internship, externship, or work experience) is a plus but not required. Familiarity with community pharmacy operations and institutional pharmacy practices. Commitment to providing high-quality patient care and maintaining professional standards. Work Environment: The Pharmacy Intern will work in a community pharmacy within an institutional setting, interacting with a diverse patient population and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
