The Orthopedic Technician assists with the application and removal of casts and splints while providing basic patient care. They also handle clinical and front-office clerical functions to support the delivery of healthcare services.
Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED and at least six months of experience with computers and clinical healthcare settings. Preferred qualifications include completion of a medical assistance program and BLS certification.
Orthopedic Technician is responsible for assisting in the application of casts, removal of casts including complex casting, orthopedic splints, and other devices in addition to providing basic care to patients. Works in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical and assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities. The Orthopedic Technician performs duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.
Experience: Completion of a medical assistance program or equivalent. Minimum of six months experience as a medical office assistant or CNA or equivalent. Minimum of six months experience with an electronic health record system. Some knowledge of medical terminology. Licensure/ Certification: BLS OSF HealthCare is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
