Position Summary

• The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) will provide compassionate, high-quality care and support to patients in the Regional Drug Dependency Unit (RDDU) at the Great Plains Area facility in Winnebago, NE. This role supports the interdisciplinary care team by assisting patients with daily living activities, monitoring patient status, and promoting a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment for individuals undergoing substance abuse treatment. Key Responsibilities Patient Care and Support
• Monitor patient safety and well-being, promptly reporting changes in condition to nursing staff.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients in various stages of recovery.
• Reinforce program education, policies and treatment plan that fosters a supportive experience to achieve individualized treatment goals Clinical Assistance
• Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, blood pressure, pulse, and respiration.
• Assist nursing staff with specimen collection, and other clinical tasks as directed.
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in patient charts and electronic health records. Unit Support
• Ensure patient rooms and common areas are clean, safe, and organized.
• Maintain infection control standards, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist with admission, transfer, and discharge processes.
• Collaborate with nursing, behavioral health, and medical staff to ensure coordinated patient care. Compliance and Professionalism
• Adhere to all HIPAA regulations and confidentiality policies.
• Follow facility, federal, and tribal healthcare guidelines and protocols.
• Participate in required training and professional development activities.

Qualifications

• Required:
• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification, recognized by the state of Nebraska or compact state licensure eligibility.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (or able to obtain before hire).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
