The Speech Therapist is responsible for assessing and treating patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Key duties include performing evaluations, conducting individual therapy, and maintaining accurate clinical records in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
Candidates must hold a Master's degree in Speech/Language Pathology and be licensed to practice in New York State. A Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association is also required.
The Speech Therapist is responsible for assessing and providing services to Schofield Residence patients who are in need of speech, language, and swallowing treatments. Conduct individual therapy treatments in speech/swallowing. Prepare initial evaluation, progress notes, recertification, and discharge reports per Schofield Residence policy. Counsel individual patient/caregiver in relation to patient’s specific problems and needs. Participate in patient-centered conferences when appropriate. Maintain equipment and therapy materials for communication. Participate in and/or present inservice programs. Maintain current, complete and accurate clinical records per Schofield Residence policy and regulatory guidelines. Communicate with professional disciplines regarding patients’ progress, tolerance and compliance with treatment plan. Follow rules and regulations of the NYS Department of Health. Interpret and follow Medicare and Medicaid guidelines. Perform other related duties as required by their manager. srnp QualificationsQualifications: Education and Training: Master’s degree in Speech/Language Pathology. Licensure and current registration to practice as a Speech Therapist in NYS. Experience – Completion of the necessary educational and clinical requirements and has achieved the Certificate of Clinical Competence awarded by the American Speech, Language and Hearing Association.
