The Medical Assistant supports physicians by recording patient vitals, medical histories, and assisting with clinical procedures like sigmoidoscopies. They also manage office administrative tasks, including scheduling, EMR documentation, and supply inventory.
Candidates must be high school graduates with BLS certification and experience as a Medical or Nursing Assistant. Clinical expertise in gastroenterology and the ability to handle physical demands of a medical office are required.
Required High School Graduate Medical Assistant or Nursing Assistant experience. Demonstrates clinical expertise in gastroenterology nursing. Current BLS certification. Participation in ongoing continuing education. Ability to deal compassionately, professionally, and courteously with patients, their families. Full range of body motion, including manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination. Extensive periods of standing or walking. Bending, lifting, and carrying. Normal color perception and corrected visual acuity and hearing to normal range. Involvement with management, providers, staff, and patients and their families Preferred At least one (1) year previous office experience preferred. Medical Assistant and/or Nursing Assistant Certification (May be required depending on the location)
