Provide direct rehabilitative services to residents under the supervision of an Occupational Therapist to improve independence in daily living. Responsibilities include implementing treatment goals, documenting patient progress, and educating families and staff.
Requires an Associate's degree from an accredited OTA program and a current COTA license in California. Experience in skilled nursing or post-acute care settings is preferred.
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant works under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide rehabilitative services to residents, helping them regain independence in activities of daily living and functional mobility. Key Responsibilities: Provide direct patient care as outlined in the treatment plan developed by the Occupational Therapist Assist in the implementation of treatment goals and plans Monitor patient progress and report changes to the Occupational Therapist Accurately document treatments and patient responses using facility systems (e.g., Casamba, PointClickCare) Educate residents, families, and staff on therapy goals and home exercise programs Participate in team meetings, care planning, and discharge planning as needed Ensure compliance with federal, state, and facility regulations and policies Qualifications: Associate’s degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program Current COTA license in good standing with the State of California Experience in a skilled nursing or post-acute care setting preferred Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficient in documentation software and electronic health records
