As a Locum NP or PA, you will play a crucial role in patient care, working alongside a skilled surgical team to deliver high-quality services. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients before and after surgical procedures Assist in the operating room and provide support during cardiothoracic surgeries Monitor patient recovery and manage post-operative care Collaborate with surgeons and other medical professionals to optimize patient treatment plans Maintain accurate and thorough patient records Educate patients and their families about surgical procedures and recovery processes Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives Stay up to date with advances in cardiothoracic surgical practices and protocols
Associate degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant program Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Experience in cardiothoracic surgery preferred Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts
Call Requirment: 5p-7a, weeknights and weekends
Daily Volumes: 5- 10 patients, 0-3 admissions, 2-7 ICU, 1-2 surgeries
Patient Population: Adults
Required Procedures: General CV/thoracic surgery, coronary artery bypass surgery, valvular repairs, and replacements
Support Staff: RN navigators, MAs, physicians & midlevels
EMR: Epic
Must be board-certified
