The CRNA is responsible for preparing and administering anesthetic agents and performing pre-anesthesia evaluations for patients. They must monitor patients during surgical procedures to maintain stability and provide clinical guidance to students.
Candidates must be a graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia school and licensed as an Advanced Practice Nurse and Registered Nurse in Texas. Certification from the NBCRNA and current ACLS and PALS certifications are required.
