  • Category: Health CareSUMMARY The Imaging technologist shall produce clinical diagnostic x-ray images as prescribed by physicians and perform routine diagnostic procedures accordingly, while following all standards and safety. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability to be successful. DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to the following) Produce high quality x-ray and CT images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist. Provide proper radiation protection measures. Working with the EMR’s to generate and complete exam orders. Perform, record, and analyze QC data in order to make judgments concerning the results and take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision. Maintain a safe and efficient working environment by performing equipment checks, cleaning work area, and monitoring temperatures in accordance with regulatory agencies and hospital policies. QualificationsEDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE Completion of a JRCERT approved radiological training program or equivalent, required Current registration by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), required R.T. C.T., or willingness to obtain C.T. accreditation Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice, required BLS required, or obtain within 6 months of hire SKILLS AND ABILITIES Ability to maintain safe and effective patient care. Strong written and verbal communications skills with prevalent professional demeanor. Ability to use active listening skills to interpret the needs of the patient. Ability to mentor, train, motivates, direct and empowers team. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation. Ability to work independently. Flexibility in schedule. Willing to adjust hours, as needed. Willing to cover other shifts Highly motivated. Ability to work in fast paced, rapidly changing, and regulated environment. Able to triage situations to complete tasks. Effective time management. Analytical skills to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner. Exhibit sound and accurate judgement. Team player/professional attitude. Demonstrates ability to learn and apply new approaches. Maintain professional technical knowledge.

Requirements

Requires completion of a JRCERT approved radiological training program and current ARRT registration. Must hold a current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice and BLS certification.
