The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive, patient-centered care for pregnant individuals and newborns across prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum periods. Responsibilities include implementing evidence-based nursing practices, assessing patient needs, and coordinating care interventions to ensure optimal outcomes.
Candidates must hold a current RN license from the Kentucky State Board of Nursing and an Associate Degree in Nursing, though a Bachelor's is preferred. Required certifications include BLS, with ACLS, PALS/ENPC, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring certifications to be obtained within specific timeframes after hire.
Registered Nurse (RN) – Women’s Care/Obstetrics Full Time - 3rd Shift (Nights) The Obstetrics Unit is a specialized hospital department dedicated to the comprehensive care of pregnant individuals and newborns throughout the prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum periods. The unit provides high-quality, patient-centered care in a supportive and safe environment, ensuring the best outcomes for both mother and baby.
(Please review ALL Requirements) A Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness. This individual honors patient’s mind, body, and spirit by respecting human dignity and the uniqueness of everyone. Nursing practices are based on evidence and current research as well as hospital and department policies and procedures, regulatory standards, and professional guidelines. Clinical decision-making incorporates all four phases of the nursing process, critical thinking, and creativity. Nursing excellence is promoted through helping relationships among nursing staff and across other disciplines. The Registered Nurse is an exemplar for compassion, acceptance, respect, and empathy honoring nursing as a distinct discipline and supporting an environment focused on healing and wellness. Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service. Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
Current RN licensure recognized by the Kentucky State Board of Nursing is required. Associate Degree in Nursing (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) Completion and maintenance of BLS. ACLS & PALS (or ENPC) within 6 months of hire. NRP within 3-6 months of hire Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric, and Neonatal Nurses Basic, Intermediate, and/or Advanced Fetal Monitoring within 6-9 months of hire and maintenance thereafter. STABLE Course, as assigned.
