Rotates through inpatient and critical care environments
Member of Rapid Response and Code Blue teams Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Respiratory Therapy
Assess patients and determine respiratory treatment plans in collaboration with physicians and nursing staff
Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and therapeutic gases
Deliver and evaluate respiratory treatments to ensure optimal patient outcomes
Educate patients and families on respiratory equipment, inhaler techniques, smoking cessation, and disease management Critical Care & Emergency Response
Respond to Code Blue and Rapid Response Team activations
Assist with endotracheal intubation and extubation procedures
Manage patients requiring advanced respiratory support
Participate actively in multidisciplinary critical care rounds Ventilator Management
Operate and manage ventilators, BiPAP, CPAP, and related respiratory equipment
Monitor ventilator settings, volumes, pressures, and patient response
Document and communicate patient status and treatment outcomes Teamwork & Leadership
Support and mentor respiratory care students and new team members
Assist with orientation and training of new staff
Collaborate across inpatient units and ICU settings
Provide guidance to CRTs and limited-license respiratory staff Qualifications Required
Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy
Current Massachusetts Respiratory Therapist License
Current BLS Certification
Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential within 6 months of hire Preferred
