Provide direct patient care by assessing, treating, and managing patients with respiratory disorders. Responsibilities include implementing treatment plans, collaborating with medical staff, and participating in department committees.
Requires 3 years of respiratory therapy experience, including 2 years in critical care and ventilator management. Must hold a CA Respiratory Care Practitioner license and certifications in BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP.
Observation, Minutes of meetings. Actively participates in department or Unit committees, PIT teams, or task forces.
Observation, Minutes of meetings. Completes all mandatory competency checklists and certifications including: a) Mechanical Ventilation, b) Neonatal intubation (as directed), c) Neonatal transports, d) Neonatal resuscitation.
Observation, Inservice/training, Documentation. Assumes responsibility and accountability for pursuing continued training/education in response to personal assessment and ever changing medical technology and treatment.
Observation. Evaluates own performance and seeks validation resulting in positive change. Provides feedback to peers in a formal and informal review process as a team member expectation.
Observation, Departmental monitors. Assists in review and revision of policies, procedures and competencies.
