Specialists may also: Support veterans in transitional housing, supportive housing, rapid rehousing, or behavioral health programs Assist with housing navigation and housing stability services Conduct outreach and engagement activities for veterans experiencing homelessness Provide tenant education and housing retention support Assist veterans with accessing VA, Social Security, and public benefits Participate in community outreach events, Stand Downs, and resource fairs Serve as a liaison between veterans and community partners Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required Experience working with veterans, homeless populations, behavioral health programs, recovery services, or community-based programs preferred Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills Ability to engage and motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds Experience facilitating groups, mentoring, coaching, or providing peer support preferred Strong organizational and documentation skills Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Office applications Valid driver's license and ability to meet company insurance requirements
