A caregiver in this role will work full-time on a rotating schedule Monday through Friday, with shift options including 5:00am to 1:30pm, 7:00am to 3:30pm, and 11:00am to 7:30pm. This position also includes an every-other-weekend rotation to support departmental coverage needs. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding and sterile compounding. Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections. Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities and training. Use information systems, technology and automation to complete assigned tasks. Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: High School Diploma or GED Licensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician Must meet all of the following license and certification combination requirements at the time of application: Must hold an active registration as a Registered Pharmacy Technician through the Florida Board of Pharmacy (FBOP). Please note: A status as a Pharmacy Technician Trainee with FBOP does not qualify for this role. However, please visit the apprenticeship program to express interest: https://talentcommunity.clevelandclinic.org/campaign/apprentiship-programs/ ) It is required, within 18 months from the date of hire: Must obtain a national certification as a Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcare Association (NHA) AND Registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Florida Board of Pharmacy Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Completion of a formal Pharmacy Technician Training Program Six months of hospital experience Outpatient/inpatient experience Physical Requirements: Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing, walking, reaching, stretching and sitting for prolonged periods; manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer, dispensing, and compounding.
