The Peer Support Specialist acts as a mentor to individuals with serious mental illness and substance use disorders to promote community inclusion and recovery. Responsibilities include facilitating wellness groups, assisting with daily living activities, and providing transportation to community resources.
Candidates must have a high school diploma and be a State of Michigan certified Peer Support Specialist or Recovery Coach. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required for community-based service delivery.

The ACT Peer Support Specialist serves as a member of community-based mental health team that provides services for individuals experiencing serious mental illness. The ACT Peer Support Specialist certified peer support specialist that works closely with individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders. The ACT Peer Support Specialist acts as a mentor while providing support and assistance to individuals in the following areas: achieving community inclusion, participation, independence, recovery, resiliency and/or productivity.
As a community-based role, this position will render at least 80% of services in the beneficiary's home or other agreed-upon community-based position.
The starting pay for this position is $22.00 - $23.00 hourly rate and is based on non-discriminatory factors such as skills and experience.
