Provide nursing triage for patient messages via telephone or MyChart using sound clinical judgment and assessment skills. Manage the patient placement process to ensure efficient transitions from various entry points to appropriate hospital units.
Requires a valid Registered Nurse (RN) license from the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas. Preferred experience includes 2 years of ambulatory clinical nursing or emergency room experience.
JOB SUMMARY This position works with limited oversight to efficiently provide nursing triage of all patient messages received via telephone or MyChart. The triage nurse will demonstrate sound clinical judgment that utilizes careful listening, critical thinking and assessment skills. During downtime, the position works with limited oversight to efficiently process patients to appropriate units based on physicians' order whether coming via ED, DA, Transfer, Clinic, Surgery or Procedural Area.
