Requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a scientific major or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Candidates must have at least one year of experience working with diverse groups and strong organizational and communication skills.
Dr. MacQuarrie is using cell culture models and samples to study how the organization of the cell nucleus in pediatric tumors relates to their biology, as well as to normal developmental cellular processes. These studies aim to identify specific similarities and differences between normal and tumor cells at both global and local levels in the nucleus. The goal of this study is to increase our understanding of the events that occur in pediatric tumors that lead to the development and/or maintenance of the tumor cells.
