Practice for this role

About the role

Provide occupational therapy services to pediatric clients with sensorimotor challenges and patients of all ages with upper extremity orthopedic dysfunctions. Deliver personalized, active treatments focusing on functional enhancement and therapeutic exercise within an outpatient clinic setting.

Kinetic Edge Physical Therapy is a unique place with exceptional therapy professionals. Our company is well-established (founded in 1998) and continues to steadily grow because of our commitment to transforming lives and restoring hope through movement. Our combination of insurance-covered care and cash-based programs has created stability and strength.

We currently have a GREAT OPPORTUNITY for a CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISTANT (COTA) to work on a PRN to part-time basis in an OUTPATIENT PEDIATRIC/ORTHO CLINIC in Ames, Iowa with some additional coverage hours possible in Des Moines, Iowa. The OT clients we serve in these clinics include both pediatrics clients with sensorimotor processing challenges and people of all ages with upper extremity orthopedic dysfunctions, so the capacity and desire to work with both of these populations is a great advantage for any interested candidate. Excellent mentorship from a highly skilled and well respected occupational therapist is a valuable feature of this position.

Kinetic Edge commits itself to the following

  • Continuity of care – our treatments are very personal and provided by one provider or a close-knit team
  • Active treatments – our focus is on therapeutic exercise, functional enhancement, and manual skills, not passive modalities
  • Autonomy of practice – our therapist schedules are flexible to allow for a comfortable work/family balance
  • A lifetime of learning – we provide ample opportunities for continuing education, advanced education enhancement programs, and encourage unique skill development
  • The platinum rule – we treat others better than we expect to be treated
  • As a PRN team member, hours are flexible and fluctuate. Should the work grow to a part-time or full-time position, our benefits allow you to grow professionally and clinically with:
  • Competitive salary with bonus-earning potential
  • Generous paid time off package
  • Generous CEU & advanced education benefits
  • 401(k) plan
  • Health savings account, dental and vision plans, flexible spending accounts, and dependent care accounts
  • Company paid disability (with at least 30 work hours per week) and malpractice insurance plans
  • Company paid association and section memberships to stay involved and active in your profession

Join the team that exists outside the box and supports providers with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to do things differently than the norm. If you want to do what's best for your clients without being micromanaged, Kinetic Edge may be right for you. If you desire to work for a team that is committed to ensuring autonomy, mastery, and purpose, then look no further.

Market context

Physician roles in Iowa stay selective

In Iowa, physician openings are often shaped by ongoing demand for primary and specialty care, especially in communities where access can be limited. These roles are competitive because employers look for strong clinical judgment, clear communication, and alignment with the organization’s mission; this posting also lists a high school diploma or equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift up to 35 pounds. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits here to save time, then confirm the original job description before applying.
