Medical Assistant - OB Care Center - Full Time - Days

• Job Summary The Medical Assistant provides direct and indirect patient care in an office setting.
• Records, facilitates and assists with patient examination and treatment.
• Assists and/or covers absences within the office as assigned.
• This may include but is not limited to patient reception, answering telephones, registration, scheduling of appointments and obtaining medical records.
• Also supports the provider as assigned.
• Core Job Responsibilities Observes, collects, records, and reports selected data related to patient’s physical, psychosocial, environmental and self-care ability.
• Prepares patient for examination.
• Assists provider with medical procedures.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examination.
• Performs Point of Care Testing as appropriate Maintains established inventory levels of medical supplies.
• Responds appropriately to patient’s issues and notifies the office manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience Requirements REQUIRED

High school diploma or equivalent. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Concentration needed to assimilate information from many different sources. Basic computer knowledge.

Licensure/Certification Requirements EQUIRED

Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or direct patient care experience BLS certification within 6 weeks.
