About the role

The role is responsible for maintaining laboratory instrumentation, performing quality control, and ensuring calibration functions. Additionally, the scientist provides training, assesses competencies, and completes testing within established time frames.

Job Summary

Technical Skills/Knowledge Maintains instrumentation and work area. Maintains quality control and calibration functions. Professional Development Provides training and assesses competencies. Consistently completes testing within established time frames. Recognize and address issues within the department.

Qualifications

Education Bachelor’s degree and Medical Technology (MT) certification with American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent. Must meet the minimum requirements of the Clinical Laboratory Act of 1988. Experience Four (4) years of laboratory experience as an MLT/HT (internal CLS2); OR Two (2) years of laboratory experience as a MT/HTL (internal CLS3) (Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience) Licensure/Certification Registered with ASCP (or eligible for registry) as a Medical Technologist or equivalent Compensation/Benefits $26.77-$43.71/hr depending on previous experience Position qualifies for $3.00/hr night shift differential Benefits include medical, dental, vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, paid time off (PTO), paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, scholarship opportunities, retirement plans, free parking, and opportunities for advancement.
