Responsibilities

• Deliver coordinated nursing care for NICU patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
• Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines.
• Utilize critical thinking, professional and supervisory discretion, and independent judgment in care planning and delivery.
• Monitor patient status; administer medications and treatments per protocol; document care; ensure patient safety and comfort.
• Collaborate with neonatal physicians and interdisciplinary teams; participate in rounds and discharge planning.
• Maintain thorough documentation and communicate effectively with families and team members.

Requirements

• Active California RN license (or eligibility for licensure as required for the assignment)
• NICU experience or recent exposure to neonatal care
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Ability to work days, 12-hour shifts, on-site in Bakersfield, CA
• Willingness to travel for a 13-week assignment
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN accepted)
