Responsibilities

• Confirm patient identity and exam verification prior to initiating the scan; adhere to department safety policies
• Prepare patients for CT scans and explain procedures to help them feel comfortable
• Position patients and assist with safe patient handling, including moving patients with limited mobility
• Insert IVs and administer contrast as needed; injection certification preferred and may be completed during orientation
• Operate CT scanners; knowledge of Siemens and Philips equipment preferred
• Collaborate with physicians to provide diagnostic imaging; document all steps in EPIC and ensure images are properly sent to PACS
• Maintain a clean and safe scanning facility; uphold quality control and patient safety standards

Requirements

• Completion of formal Radiologic Technology program
• ARRT certification in Radiography
• NYS licensure (must obtain prior to starting)
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 2 years CT technologist experience; Level I Trauma Center experience preferred
• Experience with Siemens and/or Philips CT scanners; Epic experience highly desired
• Injection certification preferred; willing to complete during orientation
• Ability to work on-site in a hospital imaging department and adapt to night shift as required
