Responsibilities

• Assist with chest exposure and closure during cardiac procedures; independently perform vein harvesting for CABG surgeries.
• Serve as first assist in complex cardiac cases and adapt to additional duties as needed.
• May scrub and circulate complex cardiac procedures, including CABGs, structural heart cases, minimally invasive procedures, and heart failure cases.
• Support DaVinci robotic cases when required or requested.
• Contribute to heart transplant cases when applicable and maintain perioperative patient safety and telemetry monitoring.
• Collaborate closely with the cardiac surgical team, anesthesia, and circulator staff to ensure efficient case flow and patient care.

Requirements

• New York State RN license (active)
• CNOR certification
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac RNFA experience
• Telemetry competency
• Ability to perform in a 12-hour shift and participate in unit-based on-call as needed
