Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and older adult patients on a medical-surgical unit, including trauma and acute illness care
• Administer prescribed medications and therapies, including heparin drips and other acute meds, with careful monitoring for adverse reactions
• Conduct ongoing patient assessments, monitor vitals and telemetry as indicated, and document findings in the electronic medical record (EPIC)
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to implement care plans, respond to changes in patient condition, and participate in rounds
• Promote safety and comfort, assist with mobility, and use specialty equipment (gait belts, geriatric chairs, PT equipment) as needed
• Provide patient and family education, prepare for discharge, and coordinate transitions of care with appropriate teams

Requirements

• Documented med-surgical telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certifications current
• EPIC EMR experience
• Ability to work in a hospital med-surg environment
• Eligibility for travel assignment and ability to meet credentialing
