Responsibilities

Conduct initial and ongoing physical therapy assessments for inpatients, document findings, and establish treatment plans.
Implement evidence-based rehabilitation interventions to improve mobility, strength, balance, gait, and functional independence.
Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans, and coordinate with the interdisciplinary team for optimal discharge planning.
Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety, and fall prevention to support continued recovery after discharge.
Document sessions and outcomes in the patient record in compliance with regulatory and facility standards.
Ensure patient safety, proper use of equipment, and adherence to infection control and privacy requirements.

Requirements

License: Physical therapist license required (CA). Active license preferred; eligible to practice in California if applicable.
Education: Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree required if the license was obtained on or after January 2016; foreign equivalent acceptable.
Certifications: AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS required.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the submitted unit specialty within the last 3 months; ICU experience preferred but not required.
Additional: Must be able to work in a hospital inpatient setting; ability to meet on-site requirements for the duration of the assignment.
