Responsibilities

• Plan and execute rehabilitation programs to help patients regain physical function, using therapeutic exercise, neuromuscular re-education, modalities, gait training, and manual techniques
• Evaluate mobility, strength, and overall function; develop a Plan of Care with short- and long-term goals; provide a home exercise program and discharge instructions
• Document patient progress according to approved medical and facility documentation procedures; maintain patient records and ensure payer certifications and authorizations are in place
• Maintain open communication with therapy staff, department colleagues, and referral sources to coordinate care
• Supervise physical therapy assistants as appropriate and ensure consistent, quality care
• Engage in continuing education and apply current standards of practice to patient evaluations and interventions

Requirements

• Active Illinois Physical Therapist license (PT) – REQUIRED
• Active American Heart Association BLS certification – REQUIRED - 1+ years of physical therapy experience; inpatient experience – REQUIRED
• Ability to work in an inpatient rehabilitation setting
• Two supervisory references completed with dates employed listed – REQUIRED
• Candidate must reside outside a 50-mile radius of Mattoon, IL (non-local requirement)
