About the role

Provides basic medical assistance to physicians and nurses, including patient preparation and vital signs monitoring. Responsible for phlebotomy, lab sample collection, and utilizing computer systems for patient data management.

Under general supervision and according to established procedures, provides basic medical assistance to physicians/providers and nurses by providing basic preparation of patients according to area specific Policy and Procedures including but not limited to vital signs, chart preparation, phlebotomy, procedure assistance and lab sample collection. Utilizes department specific computer systems for entry and retrieval of patient data.

Requirements

Requires a high school diploma and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program. Must maintain current certification from AAMA, NHA, or AMT, with bilingual skills preferred.
