The counselor provides individual, family, and group psychotherapy to children and adolescents in acute and residential programs. They collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to complete psychosocial histories and assist in discharge planning.
A Master's degree in psychology, social work, or counseling is required, with a preference for Missouri state licensure (LCSW, LPC, Psy.D., or Ph.D.). Two years of experience in a psychiatric inpatient setting is preferred, though provisional licensure will be considered.
Knowledge of the professional principles, practices and techniques of psychotherapy as they apply to patients/residents undergoing psychiatric treatment and rehabilitation. Minimum of a Master’s Degree in psychology, social work or counseling.
Licensure from the State of Missouri to practice independently as a clinician in stated field, i.e., LCSW, LPC Psy.D. Ph.D., Will consider provisional licensure.
