About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated physical therapy assistant (Pta) to join our total rehab care team. Under the direction and supervision of licensed physical therapists, you will provide hands-On treatment and follow-Up care to patients across the lifespan—from newborns to geriatric populations. Your work will play a critical role in helping patients achieve their highest possible level of function and independence.
This position is ideal for a pta who values teamwork, patient-Centered care, and professional growth within a collaborative rehab environment.
- Key responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in accordance with the physical therapist’s established plan of care and maryland licensure guidelines
- Administer therapeutic interventions, monitor patient status, and report changes requiring reassessment
- Collect objective data and document patient progress accurately and timely
- Assist with discharge planning, referrals, and coordination of continuing care
- Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans, exercises, and equipment use
- Collaborate with physical therapists, physicians, and interdisciplinary rehab team members
- Participate in case conferences and team meetings
- Supervise and mentor aides, students, observers, and volunteers as assigned
Qualifications
- Education
- Graduate of an approved physical therapy assistant program
- Associate of arts degree required
- Licensure & certification
- Active maryland physical therapy assistant license or temporary maryland license pending state board examination or reciprocity
- Current bls/Cpr certification required
- Experience
- No prior clinical experience required beyond educational training
- Ability to perform all job functions independently after initial orientation period

- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to learn and use electronic medical records and point-Of-Care documentation systems
- Comfortable working with diverse patient populations and care needs
- Physical & work requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, push, pull, and assist patients throughout the workday
- May be required to lift or transfer patients and equipment
- Exposure to blood and bodily fluids and typical healthcare clinical environments
