Perform examinations to diagnose and treat various diseases and injuries of the legs and feet for residents in long-term care facilities. Provide medication, orthoses, and wellness guidance to enhance patient mobility and overall health.
Candidates must hold a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree and a DEA license. Experience in long-term care and the physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift 20 pounds are required.
Performed examinations on patients’ legs and feet to identify and diagnose various diseases and conditions. Provide treatment for foot and leg injuries, such as fractures, corns, and calluses. Recommend and prescribe medication for relieving joint pain and suggest foot orthoses to enhance mobility and alleviate discomfort. Offer guidance and advice to patients regarding foot care and overall wellness practices. Request additional medical tests as necessary based on the initial assessments.
