About the role

The Surgical Technologist is responsible for scrubbing and assisting with circulating tasks while maintaining an aseptic controlled environment. They arrange instruments on the sterile field and assist with pre-operative chart reviews and checklists.

We are a member of the nationwide Trinity Health family, bringing compassionate care to our communities. Position Purpose The Nursing Support (NS) colleague (uncertified, certified, unlicensed, or licensed) provides safe, quality health care services & / or assistance to patients under the supervision & direction of a registered nurse or other designated health care professional in accordance with level of experience, education, policies & procedures. What you will do Scrubbing and assisting with circulating tasks. Arranging instruments on sterile field. Maintaining an aseptic controlled environment. Assisting with pre-operative review of charts; pre-operative checklist.

  • Conditions: Perform activities that require standing / walking with the ability to vary / adjust physical position or activity. Lift a maximum of 30 pounds unassisted. Use of upper & lower extremities, engage in bending / stooping / reaching & pushing / pulling. Work indoors (subject to travel requirements) under temperature-controlled & well-lit conditions. Encounter worksites (e.g., patient homes) or travel to worksites that may have variable internal & external environmental conditions. Perform work that involves physical efforts (e.g., transporting, moving, positioning & / or ambulating patients).

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Operating Room Technology Licensure: Successful completion of national exam for certification by NBSTSA. Registry Eligible must pass the certification exam within 18 months from date of hire.

Requirements

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited Operating Room Technology school and hold BLS certification. Certification by the NBSTSA is required, though registry-eligible candidates must pass the exam within 18 months of hire.
