The Radiology Technologist operates x-ray equipment and performs diagnostic procedures across at least two modalities. They are responsible for ensuring radiation safety for both patients and themselves while working in various settings like the ER, ICU, and OR.
Candidates must be licensed by the State of California in Radiology and Fluoroscopy and certified by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists. A current Basic Life Support Certificate is also required.
Overview The Radiology Technologist operates x-ray equipment as designated. Selects proper exposure factors and demonstrates a through knowledge of radiographic positioning.
Practices radiological technology in a manner that ensures radiation safety for self and the patient. Performa diagnostic procedures on a minimum of two (2) modalities. Demonstrates competency and proficiency with x-ray equipment in various locations such as ER/ICU portables and C-Arm in OR.
Licensed by the State of California in Radiology and Fluoroscopy. Certified by The American Registry of Radiological Technologists. Current Basic Life Support Certificate.
