• Licensed Vocational Nurse Opportunity West Oaks Hospital has provided psychiatric care to the Houston area and surrounding communities for over four decades.
• Our 176-bed acute care facility is fully accredited and included a 16-bed residential treatment center for adult chemical dependency.
• We offer a broad range of behavioral health programs for children, adolescents and adults.

• The LVN will provide direct patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse for adults, adolescents, children and geriatric patients with psychiatric and substance abuse conditions or House Supervisor.
• The LVN will be responsible for using the Nursing process to effectively manage the Plan of Care for each patient based on appropriate standards, policies and procedures.
• Management of each patient also includes appropriately and effectively delegating patient care duties to other members of the nursing team in order to assure optimal patient outcomes.
• The Licensed Vocational Nurse is also responsible for continuing his/her own professional development to enhance practice and the profession of Nursing and actively participates as a member of the multi-disciplinary team of the unit and performs duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education Required: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Licensure and certification Required: Current Texas State Licensed Vocational Nurse licensure. CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications. Experience Required: Two years of inpatient psychiatric nursing and/or medical/surgical experience.
