Provides basic patient care activities and direct support to nursing staff under the supervision of a licensed nurse. Responsibilities include operating medical equipment, collecting specimens, and monitoring patients' conditions.
Requires a high school diploma or GED and a current Basic Life Saving (BLS) certification. Experience with venipuncture and EKGs is preferred but not required.
Under the leadership of the departmental Nursing Director and the supervision of a licensed nurse, the Patient Care Technician provides culturally sensitive, developmentally appropriate patient care. The Patient Care Technician works under close supervision of a licensed nurse and performs a variety of basic patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs of patients.
Requires a high school diploma in General Studies or a GED state certification.
No required work-related experience. Experience with venipuncture and obtaining EKGs preferred.
Requires and maintains a certification in Basic Life Saving (BLS). (If BLS certification is not current upon hire, it must be obtained within the orientation period.)
Performs other related job duties as assigned.
