Pediatric Anesthesiologist

Position Summary

Responsible for tailoring and administering general anesthesia, sedation, and pain management based on each pediatric patient’s specific needs. This role includes medically evaluating patients and developing comprehensive anesthesia plans to ensure a safe, controlled, and calm environment before, during, and after surgical or procedural care.

Duties & Responsibilities

Administers general anesthesia, sedation, and pain management for pediatric patients Conducts pre-anesthesia evaluations and develops individualized anesthesia care plans Monitors patients throughout procedures to ensure safety and stability Manages airway, cardiovascular, and respiratory functions during anesthesia administration Provides post-anesthesia care oversight and monitors recovery status Collaborates with surgeons, nurses, and clinical teams to ensure coordinated patient care Responds to intraoperative emergencies and adjusts anesthesia plans as clinically indicated Ensures compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and regulatory standards Participates in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives Documents all anesthesia care accurately and in accordance with clinical standards

Minimum Qualifications

Education & Experience Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited medical school Completion of an Anesthesiology Residency program Completion of a one (1) year Pediatric Anesthesiology Fellowship from an accredited institution Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in pediatric anesthesiology Board Certified or Board Eligible in Anesthesiology Licensure & Certification Active and unrestricted Nevada State Medical License Nevada State Pharmacy Board License to prescribe medications DEA Controlled Substance Registration Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications may be required (American Heart Association preferred/accepted)
