About the role

Provide urgent and same-day care for unpaneled patients and support primary care providers during transitions or absences. Collaborate with nursing staff and other disciplines to ensure seamless patient access and efficient care delivery.

We are seeking a mission-driven provider to join our organization. This position is planned for full-time and is a dynamic and collaborative role embedded in an outpatient primary care practice. This is a walk-in/urgent care setting where the nature of the day to day can be unpredictable. Prior clinical advanced practice experience in an emergency department, acute/urgent care strongly preferred.

Position Highlights

The position is planned for full-time 40 hours per week and is a dynamic and collaborative role embedded in an outpatient primary care practice. This is a walk-in/urgent care setting where the nature of the day to day can be unpredictable.

Successful candidates will be comfortable with a high degree of variety in cases from day-to-day, will encounter a full gamut of medical conditions – from acute illness to chronic disease.

Work with all ages across the lifespan, with on-site services including family medicine, pharmacy, behavioral health, rehabilitation, medication management, and social services. Common procedures include suturing, incision and drainage of abscesses, removal of soft tissue foreign bodies, closed reduction of simple fractures and dislocations, and/or splinting.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an accredited MD or DO, Nurse Practitioner and/or Physician Assistant program.
  • Current license to practice medicine as MD/DO, a Nurse Practitioner and/or Certified Physician Assistant in the State of Maine.
  • Current DEA license.
  • Will have up-to-date training and certification in Basic Life Support issued by American
  • Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health & Safety Institute. Must obtain within 2 weeks if not current at hire.
  • Minimum of one year of clinical experience is preferred. Experience in ED, acute or urgent care settings is ideal.

Requirements

Must be a licensed MD, DO, Nurse Practitioner, or Physician Assistant in the State of Maine with a current DEA license. BLS certification is required, and at least one year of clinical experience is preferred.
