Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department patients. Provide clerical support and maintain professional courtesy and tact when interacting with patients.
Must be a high school graduate or equivalent with the ability to demonstrate necessary clinical skills for the department. Requires knowledge of patient growth and development to provide age-specific care according to policy.
Monday - Thursday 3am to 130pm

Assists technologists and Specimen Acquisition Coordinator in venipuncture and capillary blood collections on inpatients, outpatients, and Emergency Department patients. Assists when necessary with clerical work. The work is repetitive in nature and follows standard procedures with little room for deviation. The employee must exercise courtesy and tact while dealing with patients. Work is performed under general supervision following a period of rigid on-the-job training and is checked by observation and quality control procedures.
