Inpatient Phlebotomy position with hours 4:00 AM – 12:30 PM, Monday – Friday, including rotating weekends and holidays.

• GENERAL DUTIES Performance of Venipuncture and Skin Puncture: Performs venipuncture and skin puncture in accordance with department SOP.
• Workload Management: Adheres to SOP in the use of handheld devices for specimen collection for patient.
• Monitors collection list and document status of outstanding collections where specimens are not collected.
• Specimen Pick Up and Delivery: Ensures that STAT specimens are delivered to the Lab within 15 minutes of collection or pick up.
• Specimen Handling and Receipt: Ensures that specimens are updated to receive status and correct data is reflected in terms of collect date/time and receipt date/time.
• Delivers to the appropriate Lab Section immediately upon receipt.
• Quality Assurance Related Duties: Communicates complaints or problems to department supervisor.
• Collects data for quality assurance program as outlined by department SOP or instruction by department supervisor.
• Maintains thorough and neat documentation.
• EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support Health Care Provider.
